Bada & Mimo is a miniature studio by Yao Lin, based in the Paris region.

Before founding Bada & Mimo, I worked as an architect and retail designer. My background in architecture sparked a lasting curiosity for craftsmanship and making, encouraging me to explore different materials and techniques while combining meticulous attention to detail with creative thinking.

Working in retail design also gave me a deep appreciation for brand identity, spatial experience and visual storytelling. Today, my miniature artworks are not simply objects created at a smaller scale—they are thoughtful compositions that bring together craftsmanship, branding and space.

The name Bada & Mimo comes from my two companions: Bada, my cat, and Mimo, a budgerigar who unexpectedly flew through my window one day and became part of my family.

Inspired by nature, gastronomy and everyday life, I create handcrafted miniature artworks that celebrate the beauty of ordinary objects through scale, texture and craftsmanship. From restaurant menu artworks and brand commissions to wearable jewellery and personal keepsakes, every piece is sculpted entirely by hand with patience, curiosity and close attention to detail.

I believe that even the smallest objects can tell meaningful stories.
